Attomarker Attomarker produce cutting-edge biomarker detection technology, providing indicators of human and animal health that can be used by medical practitioners for rapid in-the-field diagnostics. Over a frustratingly long period of time, Attomarker had been experiencing what they described as a data emergency; they had no easy access to the data, and despite many months of trying had struggled to overcome an apparent roadblock. Their development efforts felt stuck.

Taking Care The company had committed to be lead sponsor for the industry’s flagship conference. They wanted to establish industry influence through this event, but were worried that without a significant innovation to launch at the conference the opportunity was going to be wasted. They felt that a ground-breaking innovation was needed to make the most of the opportunity, and had made some initial efforts to develop it, but reached the limits of their internal capabilities. Their suspicion was that their large cache of historical data could be used to improve and tailor their service through an improved understanding of their customers’ frailties.

Aqua Spark Aqua Spark is a Venture Capital fund based in the Netherlands, specialising in aquaculture investments. They asked us to perform a technical due diligence exercise when they were considering an investment in Vietnamese company Tepbac. Tepbac provides a hardware and software IoT infrastructure for shrimp farms, monitoring shrimp health and water conditions and automating feeding.

Thermancy Thermancy supplies pump monitors for use in water pumping stations. Water pumps are extremely energy-intensive; their power consumption is a major cost for water companies, and their overall power consumption is highly sensitive to pump selection decisions by their operators. The company wanted to improve its service to utility companies by providing pump selection guidance to pumping station operators that could be used together with the readings from their monitors.
